Mei Sagara (嵯峨良 芽依/Sagara Mei) is one of the heroines of the Kono Naka ni Hitori, Imouto ga Iru! series.

Appearance[]

Mei is usually seen in her Miryuin Academy uniform, with the difference is that she wears a loose button up cardigan instead of a blazer. In some occasions, she also has a witch hat and a cape. Her hair is braided into a ponytail, with a blue flower hairclip at the end. While she works at the Lyrical Sister Café, Mei wears the store's maid uniform.

Personality[]

Mei normally appears as a cheerful girl with a mischievous side. She enjoys teasing Shougo greatly, even once went as far as dressing up in a maid outfit with cat ears on her head to greet him. She usually calls him "Onii-chan", athough unlike other girls befriending Shougo, Mei's feeling for him seems purely platonic.) However, Mei was once skeptical of Shougo as a person, and he only earned her respect after he had proven that Mei had been deceiving him.

Mei is an extraordinary intelligent girl, having able to solve university-grade math problem when she was still a child in the orphanage. Two years before the series started, she wrote a research paper under her adopted father's guidance, and earned enough money to buy back the café her mother once owned.

History[]

Mei was an orphan, her biological parents having abandoned her as an infant because of her uncanny mathematical intellect, before she was adopted. Her adopted father was a professor at the University of Massachusetts, while her adopted mother owned the Lyrical Sister Café and took care of her in Japan. During this period, she met and befriended Shougo's half-sister. A few years later, her adopted mother died of illness, and Mei moved to Massachusetts to live with her father.

Having earned enough money from her research paper, Mei bought back the Lyrical Sister Café. Prior to the series, she reunited with her childhood friend and attended Miryuin Academy because of her.

It was later revealed that Mei did not want to reveal her childhood friend's identity to the Mikadono family because she was an illegitimate child. After Shougo promised to protect his little sister regardless, Mei responded that she would do so when he had proven that he can be a good older brother.
